Fish the headwaters of the Hocking River right in Lancaster. The river averages 3-4 feet deep with pools up to 12 feet. Smallmouth bass, rock bass, and various sunfish species. Access from Miller Park downtown and several other city parks along the Fairfield Heritage Trail. The name 'Hocking' comes from the Wyandot word 'hockhocking' meaning bottleneck — referring to the gorge near Lancaster.
