Tarlton Cross Mound

A mysterious prehistoric earthwork shaped like a Greek cross — 90 feet across and 3 feet high, aligned with the cardinal directions. No culture has been definitively identified as the builders, and archaeological digs have yielded no artifacts. Cross a 1936 suspension bridge to reach the mound. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
